Mr. Santwire stated the the Barrington Square plat is approximately <br />130,000 square feet in size and of that, 17,000 square feet would be <br />covered by buildings, and 34,000 square feet covered by parking, <br />driveways and sidewalks, for a total of 51,000 square feet of lot <br />coverage. He stated that there was more than the required green <br />space. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tralle closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER WILSON MOVED TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL APPItOVD: 'l'HD: <br />SITE PLAN FOR LOT 3, BARRINGTON OAKS, WITH THE STIPULATION THAT STArr <br />RECOMMENDATIONS 1 THRU 8 BE MET, WITH EXCEPTION THAT A MAXIMUM or A 12 <br />FT. X 14FT. SIGN BE PERMITTED. COMMISSIONER TEMPLE SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION PASSED 6.0. <br /> <br />9. Zone Change Request by Gerald Smith for M-Vale Subdivision <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Taylor, Surveyor, explained that Mr. Smith is requesting a <br />zone change from A-1 Agricultural to Rl-A Single Family Residential for <br />202 acres south of County Road #32. Mr. Taylor explained that properties <br />lying west, south and east of the proposed plat is zoned R1 at the <br />present time. <br /> <br />Mr. Rohlf stated that if the zone change were approved, an 80 acre pocket <br />of land would be left A-1 and the staff is proposing that this piece <br />also be considered for the R-1A zone change at a future date. Mr. Rohlf <br />explained that 40 acres is owned by Virginia Barnier and 40 acres is <br />owned by Mr. Nord. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tralle noted that the land use map should be amended to <br />incorporate changes made in this area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tralle opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Nord questioned whether or not the City would pressure him and Mrs. <br />Barnier into zone changing their property. Mr. Rohlf explained there <br />would be no pressure to change the zoning but that he has discussed the <br />advantages and disadvantages of such a change with Mrs. Barnier and that <br />he would be happy to go over the information with Mr. Nord if he would <br />stop in the City offices. Mr. Nord asked what the difference is between <br />A-1 and R-1A minimum lot sizes. Mr. Rohlf stated that the minimum lot <br />size for A-1 is 2.5 acres and R1-A is also 2.5 acres. Mr. Rohlf further <br />stated that A-1 requires 200 feet of road frontage and R1-A requires 150 <br />feet. <br /> <br />Mr. Herb Adolphson and Mr. Darrell Broneke, property owners on the north <br />side of County Road 32 (Meadowvale Road) stated that it was their <br />understanding that they each owned a small strip of land on the souths ide <br />of County Road 32 which would be affected by the proposed zone change, <br />approximately 92.5 feet wide by 225 ft. long. <br />
