Building & Zoning Administator <br /> <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof. the meeting of the Elk River <br />Planning Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consideration of 9/22/87 Planning Commission Agenda <br /> <br />Item 17.a December Planning Commission Meeting and Item 17.b - Sign <br />Ordinance was added to the agenda. <br /> <br />OOMMI~~IONER FUCHS <br />A~NDA A~ AMENDED. <br />CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />MOVED TO APPROVE THE 9/22/87 PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COMMISSIONER KIMBALL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />Consideration of 9/22/87 Planning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />Stephen Rohlf. Building & Zoning Administator noted that on page 4. item <br />#3. the word "furniture" should be replaced with the word "office". and <br />the words "and be compatible with the shopping center" should be replaced <br />with "residential in nature". <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER TEMPLE <br />MINUTES AS AMENDED. <br />CARRIED 6-0. <br /> <br />MOVED TO APPROVE THE 9/22/87 PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COMMISSIONER FUCHS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> <br />4. Variance Request by Northwestern Bell Telephone Co./Pub1ic Hearing. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson noted that because there were so many variances on the <br />agenda, he would read the standards that have to be met for a variance. <br />so people are aware of those standards. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson addressed the item by stating that Northwestern Bell <br />Telephone Company is requesting a 4 ft. encroachment on the 40 ft. rear <br />yard setback required in a C-4/Commercia1 district to accommodate an <br />addition to their building located at 440 Jackson Avenue NW. Elk River. <br /> <br />Chairman Wilson opened the public hearing. There being no one for or <br />against the item. Chairman Wilson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Alma Fitzioff indicated that this addition is necessary prior to winter <br />to keep the quality of phone service within the area. Ms. Fitzioff <br />further indicated that they would be installing all new telephone <br />equipment for Elk River and felt this was needed because of Elk River's <br />rapid growth. <br />
