Ordinance Amendment Regarding Material Processing as a Conditional Use <br />Within an A-l Zone/P.H. <br /> <br />Chairman Kropuenske opened the public hearing. There being no one for or <br />against the item. Chairman Kropuenske closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER FUCHS MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE <br />ORDINANCE AMENDMENT ALLOWING TEMPORARY MATERIAL PROCESSING ASSOCIATED <br />WITH GRAVEL MINING AS A CONDITIONAL USE WITHIN AN A-l ZONE. COMMISSIONER <br />JOHNSON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 6-0. <br /> <br />. 4. <br /> <br />Consider Conditional Use Permit Request by Barton Sand & Gravel Co./P~H. <br /> <br />Stephen Rohlf indicated that he talked with Bob Berg from the MPCA. Mr. <br />Berg suggested that the City set hours of operation for an asphalt plant. <br />Also. that pixie dust be used to inspect the baghouse filter once a <br />month. Mr. Berg also stated that if there was a problem with odor that <br />the stack height be adjusted. <br /> <br />Gary Sauer and Dick Peterson of Barton Sand and Gravel. had a meeting. <br />prior to the Planning Commission meeting. with nearby residents and <br />decided where to locate the proposed asphalt plant within the 40 acres in <br />question. <br /> <br />Chairman Kropuenske opened the public hearing. There being no one for or <br />against this item. Chairman Kropuenske closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson suggested that the City reserve the right to amend <br />the permit if there be any just cause. She also suggested that residents <br />call the MPCA Air Quality Control (296-7300) if they have any complaints <br />on odor from the plant. <br /> <br />. <br />
