Public Hearings <br />There were no public hearing items. <br />7.1 Together Elk River — 169 Redefine <br />Mr. O'Neil stated he was in contact with four marketing companies and is also <br />scheduling meetings with local businesses. <br />7.2 EDA Properties Update <br />Mr. O'Neil presented the staff report. <br />Page 2 <br />Ryan Hardin, Hardin Companies discussed the properties and noted they are being <br />marketed on websites, but he hasn't done any targeted marketing yet without input <br />from the Authority which will be discussed later tonight. <br />7.3 General Updates <br />Mr. O'Neil provided updates on the economic development specialist vacancy, <br />Donny Pops, marketing in sports brochures, and the scheduled March joint finance <br />committee meeting. <br />The commission recessed at 5:39 p.m. and reconvened in work session at 5:42 p.m. <br />8.1 Hardin Companies Coordination <br />Mr. Hardin asked for feedback from the Authority on various EDA owned property. <br />Fox Haven Commercial Parcel (13530 and 13566 185"' Ave. NW) <br />• What would the Authority like to see on the site? <br />Mr. Hardin discussed challenges with restaurant marketing due to highway <br />access. In talking with experts, they prefer the south side (commute side with <br />morning traffic) of the highway. There is no easy turnaround when a driver <br />passes the restaurant, and they must cross over the highway to get to it. He <br />stated this location is more destination driven. <br />The Authority is not interested in storage units or auto body even though <br />they are permitted uses within the zoning district. They would prefer a <br />restaurant but if not feasible, they would like to see a use that is compatible <br />to the residential area and isn't going to be noisy. <br />Natures Edge Parcels (10835 170`' Ave. NW) <br />■ How much of the 4+ acre site is usable land and how to market it? <br />NATURE <br />
