The City of Elk River is requesting that the fairgrounds <br />property be rezoned from R3 (Townhouse/Multiple Family Residential) and R1c <br />(Single Family Residential) to BP (Business Park). The fairgrounds property is <br />located in the northeast corner of the intersection of Joplin and Orono Parkway. <br />The 1990 Focus Area Study identified this area as part of a larger area for the <br />possible location of a business park. The business park is proposed for <br />development of light manufacturing, office and limited commercial land uses. <br />On January 19, 1994, the Council adopted a Business Park Zoning Ordinance to <br />set forth the allowable uses and development standards.
