A use, 9tructure UL building or portion <br />of a s.tructuresubordinate to and serving th8 principal use and structure on'the <br />same lot and customarily incidental thereto. <br /> <br />2. Agriculturd~. The use of land for gl'cwing or produCing field crops, keeping <br />or producing of livestock, and livestock products and poultry. The term shall <br />include inddental retail selling by the producer of products raised on the <br />. premises, provIded that customer parking space is furnished off the public right- <br />of-way. The term shall not include feedlots. <br /> <br />'3. Alley. A public or private right-of-way not greater than twenty-four (24) <br />,feet 1n widt~ which affords a secondary means of access to abutting property.' <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4.'Apartment. A room or suite of rooms in a multiple-family dwelling designed <br />or intended. for or used as a residence for oOl~ family or individual and equipp~d <br />with cooking, bath a.nd living facUities. <br /> <br />5. Block. As defined in Section lOOa.06(2)(b) of the Code. <br /> <br />6. Boarding House. Any dwelling other than C\ hotel, motel or apartment where <br />meals and lodging are provided for compensation to four (4) or more persons <br />unrelated to the owner or possessor, pursuant to previous arrangement. <br /> <br />7. Building. Any atructure having a roof whlch provIdes shelter or enclosure <br />for persons, animals, chattel, or property of any kind. When separated by bearing <br />walls without openings, each portion of such building so separated shall be deemed <br />a separate building. <br /> <br />8. Building Height. The vertical diStance from the average of the lowest and <br />the highest p'Jint of that portion of 'the lot covered by the building to the hIghest <br />point of the roof, to the deck line of mansard roofs, and to the mean height between <br />eaves and ridge for gable, hip and gambrel roofs. <br /> <br />9. Buildi.ng 3etback Line or Building Line. A line within a lot, plot, or other <br />parcel of lanJ parallel to a public rJght-of-way, a side or rear lot line, a high <br />watermark, or shoreline behind which buildings or structures must be placed. <br /> <br />10. Central Water and Sewer System.
