Heritage Preservation Commission Meeting <br />Elk River City Hall <br />September 16, 2021 <br />The Commission discussed where the documentary would be posted and how the <br />video will be used going forward. <br /> <br />5.2 David Faribault Trading Post <br /> <br />The Commission discussed installation of a monument noting the location of David <br />Faribault’s trading post in Elk River. There was discussion as to the exact location of <br />the post. Commissioner Mauren and Chair Lindberg reviewed their research. The <br />consensus of the Commission regarding the location of the trading post was the <br />location of the current Elk River Municipal Utilities Field Services building. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mauren left at 6:40 <br /> <br />The Commission discussed construction of a statute or plaque memorializing the <br />location. Commission consensus was to move forward with a smaller monument <br />over a statute. <br /> <br />5.3 Additional Projects and Updates <br /> <br />Mr. Carlton reviewed the history of aviation article prepared by Commissioner <br />Mauren and asked for any feedback to be forwarded on to assist with final edits. <br /> <br />6.
