Orono Lake Improvement District (OLID) Proposed Budget 2022 <br />Project/Activity <br />Description: OLID Annual Services and Activities Fee <br />Budget <br />Continue surveying and treatment where needed of this invasive <br />species according to LOWQC recommendations until CLP seed banks <br />AIS Control <br />are eliminated. For 2022 the estimated acres requested to be treated <br />1 <br />Curly -leaf <br />could be from 25.5 to the maximum DNR allowable of 42.15. <br />$8,438 <br />Pondweed <br />Herbicide, mechanical and/or hand removal will all be considered. If <br />Sherburne AIS Grant funds remain available and are approved, costs to <br />OLID could be reduced or funds carried over for use the following year. <br />Eurasian Watermilfoil was first detected in Lake Orono on July 21, <br />2020. Following DNR early detection rapid response protocol, the <br />AIS Control <br />EWM infestation was treated on August 5. In addition, it is hoped that <br />2 <br />Eurasian <br />the LORE project and winter freeze further assisted. However EWM is <br />$2,000 <br />Watermilfoil <br />rarely eradicated from a lake once introduced and continued <br />maintenance may be necessary to maintain the plant at low, <br />manageable levels. Also, Sherburne AIS rapid response funds or grant <br />funds from the DNR might also be sought. <br />Fisheries Survey, <br />Continue to work with the DNR to determine fish stocking needs and <br />3 <br />Preservation <br />the most appropriate species to select to stock as available and <br />$2,000 <br />and/or Stocking <br />deemed appropriate. Box, membership dues or other meeting -related or <br />$675 <br />Expenses <br />general supplies. <br />7 <br />OLID Board <br />Liability Insurance <br />Secure standard Liability Insurance for the OLID Board of Directors. <br />$897 <br />Build and maintain a cash reserve equal to half of the annual budget <br />to assist with cash flow shortages due to inherent timelines associated <br />Cash Flow needs <br />with the tax settlement and payment schedule.
