Braun, RSVP Director <br />Charlotte Strei, Sherburne County RSVP Coordinator <br /> <br />DATE: June 22, 2005 <br /> <br />ELK RIVER RSVP BUDGET REQUEST FOR YEAR 2006 <br /> <br />I am sending you our budget request for RSVP activities in Elk River as well as a <br />detailed budget to support that funding request for 2006. <br /> <br />Our RSVP program is part of the National Senior Service Corps and sponsored <br />locally by the City of St. Cloud. RSVP strengthens communities and makes a lasting <br />difference in the lives of both senior volunteers and the people they serve. Last fiscal <br />year, January 1,2004 - December 31,2004, we enabled and supported the <br />volunteer efforts of 189 older citizens who volunteered to meet community needs <br />in Elk River. <br /> <br />In terms of our funding request for 2006, we are asking for $7,150. You will see on <br />the budget detail page that our estimated expenses are $55,453 before $48,303 in <br />credits are applied from other funding sources. You will' also notice that we have <br />been successful in obtaining funds from Caring Rivers United Way, Sherburne <br />County Social Services and the Sherburne County Sheriff's Department. Please note <br />that we base some of our costs on the percentage (60.8%) of Sherburne County <br />volunteers and 15.2% of our total program's volunteers. Other costs such as <br />volunteer insurance, recognition, mileage reimbursement, for example, are actual <br />costs. We also allot a certain percentage of Federal and State dollars credit toward <br />the Elk River operating costs. Please let me know if you have any questions about <br />our method or detail and I would be happy to address them. <br /> <br />Senior volunteers are a valuable resource and RSVP continues to flourish in Elk <br />River under the excellent leadership of RSVP Program Coordinator, Charlotte Strei. <br />Charlotte also coordinates the information and referral piece ofthe Volunteer <br />Bridge, linking volunteers of any age to service opportunities. <br /> <br />Thank you for considering this budget request.
