ECOMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> �®® <br /> ICE <br /> River <br /> Elk River is updating its Comprehensive Plan,and—needy.-help! <br /> At �© !® <br /> ►�� A 6 a z <br /> .mm.......'­ <br /> Community <br /> ' =Community Outreach & Engagement <br /> The Elk River Comprehensive Plan utilized a multi-pronged approach to outreach that was flexible to work within COVID-19 <br /> related restrictions.Coordination with City staff identified the most appropriate outreach for the community and ensured <br /> an extensive,accessible,and safe engagement process for the Plan.Outreach and engagement provides the Plan with <br /> critical input and feedback from residents,businesses,and stakeholders in Elk River.The following events and tools were <br /> utilized to support this process: <br /> Project Website Online Questionnaires <br /> A project website,active through the adoption of the Plan, Two online questionnaires were developed,one for Elk <br /> provided information and updates regarding the project, River residents and one for those who own or operate a <br /> including meeting notices,Plan documents,and partic- business in the City.A total of 200 residential surveys and <br /> ipation opportunities.Additionally,the website hosted 14 business community surveys were completed,supple- <br /> outreach tools,including online questionnaires and map. menting in-person events by offering an opportunity for <br /> social. individuals to get involved at their own pace.The user- <br /> friendly questionnaires were accessible 24 hours a day <br /> map.social in order to capture input from those unable or unlikely <br /> map.social is an outreach tool that allows individuals to to attend a workshop or focus group.The questionnaires <br /> provide feedback and comments tied spatially to a point remained available throughout the planning process. <br /> or area on a map.It provides a way for anyone to create <br /> a map of the Elk River community,identifying their own <br /> issues,opportunities,weaknesses,and community assets. <br /> Each point on the map can be described in further detail <br /> with pop-out notes and attached photos.Twelve partici- <br /> pants used map.social to create maps including a total of 41 <br /> comments and features throughout the City. <br /> Elk River Comprehensive Plan•Community Context 21 <br /> DRAFT FOR REVIEW ONLY <br />
