<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />Senior Multimedia Specialist <br />Position Description <br /> <br />Department: Immediate Supervisor: <br />Administration City Clerk <br />Pay Grade: FLSA Status: Last Updated: (date) <br />7E Exempt 7/2021 <br />Positions Supervised: <br />Provides work direction to Multimedia Specialist <br /> <br />Position Summary <br />The Multimedia Specialist 1 coordinates the development and production of quality video <br />programs and multimedia content to supports programs and initiatives of various departments by <br />performing duties related to the operation and maintenance of citywide multimedia systems. This <br />position also assists with event coordination, promotional campaigns, photography, and web <br />editing. <br /> <br />Essential Functions <br />1. Works with communications team and a variety of departments to coordinate, produce, and <br />manage video and multimedia productions for web, broadcast, and social media use with <br />both internal and external audiences from program concept to final product. <br />A. Receive, evaluate, and prioritize requests for media services. Provide outline of <br />projects and estimated date of delivery. <br />B. Performs technical and professional work in the preparation of video production, <br />prepares script material, storyboards, and production plans; supervises film location; <br />performs still photography, non-linear editing, interviewing, sound recording and <br />mixing. <br />C. Performs post-production editing, including the incorporation of graphics and <br />effects. <br />D. Works in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premier Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, <br />and Photoshop and in Office 365. <br />E. Creates social media graphics and video animations for various media platforms. <br />F. Creates, updates, and maintains an inventory of photographs to utilize as stock <br />footage for various promotional materials and media platform. <br />G. Operates and captures drone footage to utilize for stock images, mapping, and video <br />content. <br />H. Trains staff to update elements of the website and media platforms as well as <br />conducts basic updates as needed. <br />I. Ensures graphic consistency and adherence to brand guidelines. <br />J. Maintains records and prepares status reports on programming and other activities. <br /> <br />2. Maintains and organizes channel, programs, and equipment. <br />A. Coordinate scheduling and programming for the government access channel. <br />B. Monitors the cable channel and verifies live and playback transmission signals from <br />city hall daily.
