<br />. <br /> <br />d. <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />employee may be transferred to another position, <br />demoted or dismissed at any time and for any lawful <br />reason during or after successful completion of the <br />Orientation Period. <br /> <br />Effect on Vacation Benefits - Vacation time shall <br />begin to accrue at the beginning of an employee's <br />initial Orientation Period in accordance with <br />Section 218.06, Subd. 4. However, unless otherwise <br />authorized by the City Administrator, the employee <br />will not be entitled to take vacation time during <br />his/her Orientation Period. After six (6) months of <br />initial service for non-clerical employees and three <br />(3) months of initial service for clerical employees, <br />an employee will be entitled to vacation time unless <br />vacation has been provided at an earlier time by the <br />City Administrator. Employees completing an <br />Orientation Period as a result of promotion may be <br />allowed to use earned vacation time during their <br />Orientation Period as determined in the sole <br />discretion of the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Rehired Employees - Any employee who voluntarily <br />terminates employment with the City, but who is later <br />rehired by the City, is subject to the same <br />Orientation Period requirement as a new employee. <br /> <br />Compensation. <br /> <br />a. Amount - Employees of the City shall be compensated <br />in accordance with such Compensation Plan as may be <br />established by the City Administrator and approved by <br />the City Council. The City shall establish equitable <br />compensation relationships as prescribed by law. Any <br />wage or salary established in the. Compensation Plan <br />shall constitute an employee's total remuneration for <br />employment. It shall not be considered as <br />reimbursement for official travel or other expenses <br />which may be allowed for the conduct of official <br />business. Unless otherwise approved by the City <br />Council, employees shall not be compensated in <br />addition to the salary authorized for the position to <br />which he/she has been appointed. Subject to state <br />and federal law, the City Administrator shall <br />determine whether employees are compensated on an <br />hourly or salary basis. <br /> <br />b. Change of Job Title - If an employee is transferred, <br />promoted, or demoted, the rate of pay for the new <br />position shall be determined by City Council upon the <br />recommendation of the City Administrator. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Temporary, Seasonal, and Part-Time Employees - <br />Whenever an employee works for a period less than the <br /> <br />6. <br />
