Seating arrangements for the function, if any, <br />are under control of the sponsor of the function <br />and not of the person otherwise responsible for <br />the public place. <br /> <br />e. Department Head Responsibilities - Department heads <br />are responsible for the following: <br /> <br />i. Ensuring that "No Smoking" and "Smoking <br />Permitted" signs, and any other signs created by <br />the City regarding this policy, remain posted in <br />accordance with the City's designation of <br />smoking and no-smoking areas; <br /> <br />ii. Ensuring that all City employees adhere to these <br />guidelines; <br /> <br />iii. Resolving disputes that may arise under this <br />Policy; and <br /> <br />iv. Ensuring that the rights of non-smoking <br />employees are given preference in the workplace. <br /> <br />f. <br /> <br />Employee Responsibilities - Employees who smoke <br />should respect all designated no-smoking areas and <br />the rights of non-smokers. <br /> <br />15. Tardiness/Absenteeism. Every City employee has an <br />important role to play in maintaining a productive workplace. <br />Therefore, it is essential that all employees report to work on <br />time and only miss work when absolutely necessary. Tardiness and <br />unexcused absences will not be tolerated by the City. <br /> <br />If an employee must be absent from work for any reason, other <br />than approved time off, the employee must notify his/her immediate <br />supervisor at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of <br />hiS/her normal working hours. If an emergency prevents the <br />employee from notifying his/her supervisor at such time, the <br />employee is expected to call as soon as possible during the work <br />day. <br /> <br />16. Termination. .The City reserves the right to terminate <br />any employee at any time and for any reason that does not violate <br />local, state, or federal law with or without notice. Employees may <br />also terminate emploYment at any time and for any reason upon <br />proper notice. The City expects an employee who chooses to <br />terminate emploYment with the City to provide a written termination <br />notice to the City in advance of the anticipated termination date <br />pursuant to Section 218.08, Subd. 7. <br /> <br />27. <br />
