<br />. <br /> <br />performance, identifying the need for further <br />training and development, and as a factor in <br />granting performance pay increases and <br />promotions. <br /> <br />(vi) <br /> <br />Employees who have been under more than one <br />supervisor during the rating period shall be <br />rated by the rating official having <br />supervision of the employee at the time the <br />rating is to be prepared. In such a case, the <br />present supervisor is encouraged to consult <br />with previous supervisors in arriving at <br />his/her rating. <br /> <br />c. In addition to annual performance evaluations, <br />employees shall also be evaluated under the following <br />conditions: <br /> <br />(i) At the completion of an Orientation Period; <br /> <br />(ii) As deemed necessary at any time an employee's <br />performance has drastically changed - improved <br />or declined; and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(iii) Any time the supervisor or department head <br />believes it is in the best interest of the <br />employee and/or the City to conduct such an <br />evaluation. <br /> <br />218.08 - Personnel policies <br /> <br />1. Applicability. The Personnel Policies set forth in this <br />Section shall apply to all employees of the City unless <br />specifically excluded by the language of any of the provisions of <br />this Section or as prescribed by Sections 218.02, Subd. 4 or <br />218.02, Subd. 9. <br /> <br />2. Work Week. Work schedules for employees shall be <br />established by the appropriate department head with the approval of <br />the City Administrator. The regular work week for employees is . <br />five (5) eight-hour working days, Monday through Friday, except as <br />otherwise established by a department in accordance with the custom <br />and needs of that department. Thus, an employee's work week <br />generally begins on Monday at the time the employee is regularly <br />scheduled to commence work and ends on Friday at the end of the <br />employee's regularly scheduled work day. <br /> <br />3. Paydays. Employees shall be paid biweekly on alternate <br />Fridays. When a payday falls on a holiday, employees shall receive <br />their pay the preceding work day. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />4. Grievance Policy. The City's policy is to try to prevent <br />the occurrence of grievances and to deal promptly with those which <br />occur.
