<br />. <br /> <br />medical facility licensed to practice <br />medicine and submit a doctor's statement <br />to the City regarding their illness. The <br />City and the employee shall mutually <br />agree upon the physician and facility <br />which shall conduct the examination. <br /> <br />(ix) <br /> <br />Employees rendered unable to work as a <br />result of an emploYment-related injury <br />may be entitled to benefits in accordance <br />with Minnesota Workers' Compensation laws <br />as described in Section 218.06, Subd. 6. <br /> <br />Like all the policies set forth in this Personnel Ordinance, <br />the Sick Time Policy and paYment for accumulated sick time can be <br />changed at any time and for any reason in the City's sole <br />discretion. <br /> <br />6. Workers' Compensation. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Introduction - Workers' compensation shall be <br />available for all eligible employees rendered unable <br />to work because of a work-related injury. Only <br />employees who qualify for workers' compensation <br />insurance shall be eligible to receive this benefit. <br />During the first three (3) working days of an . <br />employee's absence under this provision, the employee <br />shall be compensated from his/her accrued sick time. <br />If an employee has no accrued sick time, then no <br />compensation shall be received. Once eligibility for <br />workers' compensation is determined, then the sick <br />time used during the employee's first three (3) <br />working days absence shall be reinstated to the <br />employee. Employees may use any accrued sick time <br />while unable to work because of a work-related <br />injury. <br /> <br />b. Administration - Employees are expected to comply <br />with the following policies when invoking <br />compensation under this Section: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />(i) Report the injury as soon as practicable <br />to the employee's supervisor. <br /> <br />(ii) Keep the supervisor informed of his/her <br />condition. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />(iii) The employee may, at the discretion of <br />the City Administrator, be required to <br />submit to a medical examination by a <br />physician or medical facility selected by <br />the City and licensed to practice <br />medicine and to submit a medical <br />certificate for his/her absence. <br /> <br />14. <br />
