Elk River Public Library Board Page 3 <br />April 27th, 2021 <br />areas of the library; consequently, the upholstered furniture does not <br />need to be replaced right now and can be postponed to a later date. <br />The previous CIP items are not as much of a priority now with less <br />use of the library. Ms. Schake recommends keeping the $10,000 in <br />the account until the library board and staff can do a walk through <br />and make decisions later. <br />in Ms. Schake said that she defers to Gary Lore regarding maintenance <br />issues previously discussed such as the cork floor. She places more <br />priority on shelving versus furniture currently due to covid-19 <br />restrictions on use at the library. The last time CIP items were <br />discussed was after the walk through by the board in July 2019. <br />Chair Dreissig said she remembers concerns about the window <br />sealant in the teenage area. Ms. Schake believes those areas are no <br />longer a concern, but she would have to clarify with Mr. Lore. The <br />two chairs that were needing reupholster in back seating area were <br />finished and taken off the list. The Wi-Fi in the meeting room was <br />taken care of. The Board anticipates that an interior and exterior <br />walk through can be done at the July meeting to identify CIP items <br />depending on CDC guidelines at the time. <br />Moved by Commissioner Blaske and seconded by <br />Commissioner Keifenheim to approve Mr. Sevcik' s plan for the <br />rain garden. Prepare annual report to include updates and goals to be presented to <br />the city later. <br />" Chair Dreissig asked Ms. Schake if the board would be joining her <br />when she does her updates with City Council. Ms. Schake said she <br />does two updates for City Council per year. One is a general annual <br />in April or May, the other that focuses on the budget in July/August. <br />Mr. Hecker said that the board and Ms. Schake can decided when to <br />go to Council. Ms. Schake said she would prefer the 2nd City Council <br />meeting in June which would be June 21". Ms. Schake asked Mr. <br />Hecker to check and see if that date would work with City Council. <br />Mr. Hecker said it would be during the presentation portion at the <br />beginning of the meeting. Councilman Christianson said that the <br />Council is flexible. Ms. Schake said that right now the Great River <br />Regional Library is still only doing zoom meetings.
