<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, -.. <br /> <br />CITY OF ELK RIVER <br />1988 COMPENSATION PLAN <br />Exhibit 1 <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />All management positions, Department Heads and the City <br />Administrator, have an existing pay plan that was approved <br />by the City Council in 1986. All salary ranges for these <br />positions were increased 2% based on Step 5 in 1987 in order <br />to remain competitive to the private market and comparable <br />~o similar communities. These ranges will increase by 3% on <br />1/1/88. In order to continue to remain comparable and <br />competitive these ranges will have Step 5 increase by 10% on <br />7/1/88 but Step 1 of the ranges will remain the same and the <br />middle steps will be adjusted. <br /> <br />2. Adjustments in the management position pay ranges calls for <br />the Building & zoning Administrators pay range to change to <br />that of the Waste Water Treatment Plant Superintendent; the <br />Street Superintendent pay range to change to that of the <br />Police Chief; the Finance Director pay range to change <br />so that Step 5 is 1.2% above the pay range for the Police <br />Chief and Street Superintendent; and City Administrator pay <br />range to change so that step 5 is 20% above the pay range of <br />for the Finance Director. <br /> <br />3. The actual pay for the City Administrator and Department <br />Heads is listed in Exhibit 2. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />The filaintenance <br />currently have <br />shall increase <br />these employees <br /> <br />I, Maintenance II, and Sewer Operators <br />Council approved pay plans. These pay plans <br />by 3% effective 1/1/88. The actual pay for <br />is listed in Exhibit 2. <br /> <br />5. Part time liquor store clerks shall be paid in accordance <br />with the following schedule: <br /> <br />Start <br />3 months <br />6 months <br />12 months <br />18 months <br />24 months <br />30 months <br /> <br />$3.90 <br />$4.10 <br />$4.25 <br />$4.50 <br />$5.00 <br />$5.20 <br />$5.50 <br /> <br />6. All permanent part time liquor store and clerical employees <br />are to receive pro-rated benefits for vacation, holiday, and <br />sick time. These employees must be scheduled to work an <br />average of at least 20 hours per week. <br /> <br />7. The Assistant Fire Chief/Assistant Civil Defense Director <br />shall recieve $600.00 per year. The Fire Chief/Civil <br />Defense Director shall receive $17,000 in 1988 based on a <br />one-half time work status. <br /> <br />8. The custodian shall receive $5.00 per hour. <br />
