Colleen Eddy Elk River Public Arts Committee <br />Printed On: 15 October 2020 FY21 Project Grant Rnd1 4 <br />Press releases and invitations to participate will be provided to the Star News, all 11 Regional Arts <br />Councils. <br />The Milligan Studio will feature the project in all of its stages on their extensive and progressive website, <br />www.themilliganstudio.com <br />A press release will be provided to the Star News, The Central MN Arts Board. In addition, Milligan Studio <br />will feature the project on their website www.themilliganstudio.com <br />Because COVID can affect the number of people the number of people that can engage in public <br />presentations and activities, we are prepared to strictly adhere to COVID safety protocols throughout the <br />project. <br />Weather events could cause some delays in outdoor events such as the final installation and unveiling. An <br />alternative site has been identified for the casting event already. <br />1. A successful installation of the sculpture as visualized. <br />2. The number of diverse cross section of area residents attend the events. <br />3. Feedback garnered from the public that shows understanding of our goals including appreciation of <br />the artistic merit of the piece and greater awareness of the history of Elk River. We will provide participants <br />in each event short, written surveys. <br />We will ask for written and oral feedback from each stakeholder including the Mayor’s Office, the City <br />Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary, involved ISD 728 staff and students, the Library staff, and <br />Granite Shores staff. We will also seek ongoing feedback from Milligan Studio throughout the project. <br />OR Audio/Video Narrative <br />Introduce evaluators to your proposal. Include responses to the criteria statements and questions listed above. <br />Audio and Video recordings are limited to 10 minutes. It is the Applicant’s responsibility to ensure that recordings <br />are audible and submitted in one of the accepted formats. If the upload does not accommodate the file size, an <br />audio/video page or website URL can be provided in the next field. <br />Accepted formats: .MP4, MP3, .WAV, .WMA <br />Audio/Video Narrative - URL <br />Provide the website address where the audio/video file is hosted. <br />Location(s) of Proposal* <br />Address(es) where the activities will take place. <br />Slipstream will be permanently installed at the intersections of Parrish Avenue and Main Street on a plaza <br />in front of the Granite Shores Apartment Complex in downtown Elk River (633 Main Street, Elk River) <br />opposite of the Bank of Elk River. This spot is at the easternmost access to downtown Elk River and will be <br />visible from U.S. Highway 10. The location for the public art sculpture is privately owned. The property owner <br />and the Elk River Public Arts Committee have formed a public-private partnership for the installation of the <br />sculpture.
