<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />April 20, 1942 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on April 20, 1942 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Mayor; E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />P. Cairincross was present at the meeting and said that he would be able to clean out the water main <br />in two or three days and would charge $75.00 per day. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and <br />seconded by E.L. Shadick to engage P. Cairincross to clean out the water main, clean out the well <br />and check on the pump. Motion carried. <br /> <br />The following resolution from the E.R. Commercial was received by the Clerk (Resolution attached <br />to minutes). <br /> <br />A letter was read from the State Board of Health asking the Village Council to refrain from using the <br />new sanitary sewer system until the disposal plant has been built. The Clerk was instructed to write <br />to the State Board of Health stating that the Village Council had passed no ordinance permitting <br />connection to the sanitary sewer and had issued no permits for such connection, that there is no <br />more raw sewage being discharged into the river than there has been for the last several years. <br /> <br />A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by G.A. Bailey allowing the bill of the <br />Minneapolis General Hospital for the amount of $147.30 for the Hospitalization of Anna Smith. <br /> <br />A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by G.A. Bailey granting a license to R.C. O’Reilly <br />to operate 4 lines in a bowling alley of $5.00 per line. Motion carried. <br /> <br />No further business.
