<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 2, 1941 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on June 2, 1941 at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. <br />Clinton Walker, Clerk <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />The President announced that the meeting was convened for the purpose of considering objections <br />to the assessments therefore filed with the Village Clerk. <br /> <br />The Clerk reported that written objections had been filed by the following persons affecting the <br />following described lots, pieces or parcels of land, to wit: <br /> <br />D.A. Dare and Charles V Bressler filed written objections to extending sewer to Lot 5, Block 7 and <br />Lot 8, Block 8, W.H. Houlton’s addition stating that sewer should not extent in front of these lots <br />and D.A. Dare was heard in support of such objection. <br /> <br />The following persons were then heard and presented their objections to said assessments: <br />Henry La Montague appeared and was heard as to Lots 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 8, W.H. Houlton’s <br />Addition, orally stating that the way his house was build he only gets benefits from frontage of two <br />lots. <br />Clifford Martineau appeared and was heard as to N. 100’ of Lots 8, 9 and 10, Block 4, Thomas <br />Addition, orally stating that he gets no benefits and that sewer runs too close to his house. <br /> <br />Truman W. McMillan appeared and was heard as to Lot 1, Block 9, Thomas Addition stating that he <br />was now served by private sewer. <br /> <br />After consideration of all of said objections, Trustee Shadick introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption. <br /> <br />Resolution <br /> <br />A Resolution Confirming Assessments in Sewer District No. 1 <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota as <br />follows: <br />1. The engineers heretofore duly selected by this Council for such purpose have, with the <br />assistance of the Village Clerk, calculated the proper amount to be specially assessd for the <br />construction of sewer in Sewer District No. 1 of said Village agains every assessable lot, <br />piece or parcel of land within said District in accordance with the provisions of law, and <br />have prepared and filed with the Village Clerk tabulated statements in duplicate showing the <br />proper description of each and every lot, piece or parcel of land to be specially assessed and <br />the amount calculated against the same. <br /> <br />
