Add more ponds as available. Education <br />public about wetland function and importance of <br />keeping buffer areas functioning. <br />Increase public education on environmental topics <br />Increase and improve communication via social <br />media, website and publications about city's natural <br />resource protection requirements. Provide tools for <br />developers, homeowners and concerned citizens for <br />wetland and shoreland topics. Continue to <br />participate in local initiatives with Sherburne SWCD <br />to improve water quality regionally and AIS plan for <br />2021. <br />Lake Orono Restoration and Enhancement (LORE) project <br />development (estimated start date fall 2020) <br />Continue working on LORE project in spring of 2021 <br />as project finalizes, working closely with consultant <br />and lakeshore property owners to ensure a <br />successful outcome of the project. Work directly <br />with shoreline owners for private property <br />improvements in coordination with lake drawdown <br />Identify and create wetland bank site <br />Long-term goal to create wetland bank site for city <br />projects requiring wetland mitigation. Utilize existing <br />funding as needed. Work with EDA to identify <br />location and work to gain ownership to establish <br />bank site.
