Sherburne County Multi -Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2020 <br />Zimmerman. There are 742 nursing home beds in the county across three facilities, one in Elk River and <br />two in St. Cloud. <br />Emergency Services <br />Law Enforcement <br />The County Sheriff's Office provides law enforcement throughout the county and is located in Elk River <br />Over Soo employees work there to ensure than Sherburne County is a safe and secure place to live. <br />Additionally, there are police departments in Elk River, Big Lake, and Becker. These city -level police <br />departments work closely with both ambulance and fire services to effectively manage the safety and <br />well-being of county citizens. <br />Sherburne County is also patrolled by 49 troopers of the Minnesota State Patrol, primarily for traffic <br />enforcement and highway safety on the state Trunk Highway system, as well as providing statewide <br />law enforcement. Sherburne County is served by the 2600 District, headquartered in St. Cloud (MN <br />Dept. Public Saftey, 2019). <br />The one Emergency Operation Center in Sherburne County is located in the Sherburne County Sheriff's <br />Office in the city of Elk River. Duties of the EOC include (but are not limited to) hazard response <br />coordination, volunteer help, communication with government agencies on all levels, and the <br />production of information suitable for public viewing and education. <br />Fire & Rescue Services <br />Structure fires are served by local fire districts and fire departments. Each district is responsible for fires <br />within their district boundaries. However, they can work together on larger fires. Fire departments are <br />located in Princeton, Elk River, Clear Lake, Becker, Zimmerman, Saint Cloud and Big Lake. <br />Error! These drive times are created using data from Esri's Business Analyst and running the ArcGIS <br />Network Analyst extension. The user may note discrepancies between MnDOT road data and this map; <br />Network Analyst requires a seamlessly connected data source in order to perform the calculations for <br />drive times, which Business Analyst provides but MnDOT does not. The Business Analyst data was used <br />forthis reason. According to this model, nearly all communities in the county are within 3.5 minutes of a <br />fire department. <br />Page129 <br />
