The largest <br />contiguous area of wetlands within the county is located in the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge. <br />Invasive plants have spread throughout many wetlands in Minnesota. These plants can take over entire <br />native communities and threaten wetland ecosystems. Eurasian watermilfoil has been documented in <br />Sherburne County in the following water bodies: Little Elk Lake, Eagle Lake, Big Lake, Lake Mitchell, <br />Rush Lake, and Frederickson Slough (MN DNR, 2019). <br />Page 120 <br />
