May 22, 2020
Company_Name»
«First Name» «Last Name>>
« Addre s s_Line_ N
Addre s s_Line_2>>
«City», «State>> «ZIP_Code>>
RE: Temporary Premises Extension for Liquor License
Dear Manager:
The city wants our businesses to succeed and in order to assist you in trying to open for business
quickly, the Elk River City Council is holding a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28,
2020, to discuss Governor Walz's recent Executive Order relating to outdoor dining for restaurants.
An updated liquor license application for the temporary establishment or expansion of a dining patio
is enclosed. The application requires a sketch of the temporary dining area. Per state liquor
regulations, the extension must be compact and contiguous to your current building. The area must
be clearly delineated and maintained. No alcohol will be allowed outside of the premise's extension.
If you are interested in applying for a temporary outdoor patio extension, complete the enclosed
application and return it to me as soon as possible. Staff will review all applications prior to approval
of the temporary extension. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval as all state
liquor licensing guidelines must be adhered to.
The City Council meeting will be held electronically due to social distancing requirements, but if you
would like to submit public comment for the Council's special meeting, please email me at
JMillerL&ElkRiveridN.gov with your comments and I will include for the Council's review. Please
indicate in the email's subject line "Public Comment" and include your full name and address, along
with the business you are representing in the email.
Sincerely,
Jessica Miller
Deputy Clerk
