COMMISSIONPOLICY <br />Section:Category: <br />GovernanceDelegation to Management Policies <br />Policy Reference:Policy Title: <br />G.4e1Customer Accounts <br />PURPOSE: <br />With this policy, the Commission sets forth its expectations for the General Manager concerning <br />customer accounts, responsible person(s), and application for services. <br />POLICY: <br />Consistentwith the Core Customer Services Policy, the ERMU Commission expects the <br />General Manager to ensure that customers receive safe, reliable, cost effective and quality <br />long term electric and water utility servicesthat directly and <br />mission as stated in the Organizational Core PurposePolicyand Mission StatementPolicy. <br />The ERMU Commission expects the General Manager toestablishprocesses,procedures,and <br />management policywhich clearly define theterms for core customer servicesinsuch that <br />customer serviceis provided atthe highest level possiblewhileconsidering all customers and <br />customer classes, the short and long term health of theorganization,and thesafety of <br />employees and the community. <br />Consistent with this general statement, the General Manager shall: <br />1.Establish policy and procedures for the application of servicewhich: <br />a.Designatethe person(s)responsiblefor the service. <br />b.CollectSocial SecuritynumbersandDatesof Birthfor all personsresponsible for service, <br />or in the case of acommercialcustomer, asigned guarantor form. <br />c.Establisharequirement for any customers previously incurred obligations or delinquent <br />billsto ERMU to be paid in full before a new service is provided. <br />d.Establishthat in the case ofarental or lease space vacancy, that the accountresponsibility <br />be designated to the buildingowner. <br />e.Establishthat any person receivingservicefrom ERMU which has notapplied for service <br />as required bypolicy,and complied with all applicable policies, shall be considered an <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1of3 <br />108 <br />
