DESCRIPTION OF THE ACQUISITION <br />MnDOT proposes a partial acquisition, Parcel 229C, from the subject property as displayed on Fig. 1 below. <br />Parcel 229C consists of a Temporary Easement (TE) only. The TE acquisition is located at the northeast corner of <br />the subject property and includes the northerly 20 feet of the easterly 35 feet of the subject property. The total TE <br />acquisition area is 699 square feet, which is approximately 11 % of the total property area. This area is needed for <br />the realignment of the subject's driveway that coincides with the closure of Oxford Avenue NW. The subject <br />house/garage will not be impacted and are excluded from the acquisition. There are no other known building or <br />site improvements within the acquisition area that would be impacted. <br />Oxford Avenue NW is to be closed between TH 10 and 5th Street NW as part of the project. A new private <br />driveway will be constructed from 5tn Street that ties in with the subject's existing driveway and utilizes the <br />existing Oxford Avenue street right of way. The alignment of the new driveway will not match up directly with <br />the existing (east/west) driveway alignment, but will tie in at an angle (WNW/ESE) for the proposed driveway to <br />remain off of existing highway right of way and will include a turnaround. The subject's existing driveway <br />currently encroaches across existing highway right of way, as does a small portion of the subject's garage and the <br />entire shed.
