A hospital district is hereby authorized to be created pursuant to Laws 1959, Chapter 570, <br />comprising the territory of the City of Anoka, Minnesota, and each of the following <br />additional municipal corporations: Township of Grow, Anoka County, Township of Oak <br />Grove, Anoka County; Township of Ramsey, Anoka County; Township of Burns, Anoka <br />County; Township of Champlin, Hennepin County; Village of Champlin, Hennepin County; <br />Village of Elk River, Sherburne County; Township of Elk River, Sherburne County <br />For the purpose of the acquisition, betterment, operation, maintenance and administration of such <br />hospital and nursing home facilities as the hospital board of such district shall determine in <br />accordance with said Chapter 570 to be necessary and expedient. <br /> <br />2. The Clerk is hereby directed to cause this resolution to be published forthwith in the official <br />newspaper, and this resolution shall become effective forty days after such publication, <br />unless within said period a petition shall be filed with this Board, signed by qualified electors <br />of the Village equal in number to 5% of the number of electors voting at the last preceding <br />election of officers, requesting a referendum on this resolution; in which case it shall not <br />become effective until approved by a majority of such qualified electors voting thereon at an <br />election called for that purpose. <br /> <br />
