<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 4, 1960 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Village Hall on Jan 4, 1960. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Henry Johnson, Mayor; August Meyer, G.R. Bergerson, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Johnson. <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br /> <br />The following committees were appointed by Mayor Johnson: <br />Sewer Committee <br />August Meyer <br />Robert Kemper <br /> <br />Liquor Committee <br />H.A. Briggs <br />Robert Kempter <br /> <br />Street Committee <br />Robert Kempter <br />H.A. Briggs <br /> <br />Parks Committee <br />August Meyer <br />G.R. Bergerson <br /> <br />Welfare Committee <br />G.R. Bergerson <br />H.A. Briggs <br /> <br />Permits Committee <br />August Meyer <br />G.R. Bergerson <br /> <br />Acting Mayor – August Meyer <br /> <br />Upon motion by Meyer and second by Briggs, Harry Dreissig was appointed Fire Chief for the <br />coming year. Also Mrs. McNair was appointed as member of Library Board. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Bergerson to reappoint Joseph Bailey as member of <br />the Light and Power Commission. Carried. <br /> <br />Al Balou was present at the meeting. He reported that the sales of the Municipal Liquor Store for <br />1959 amounted to $150,770.72 a gain of $10,376.30 over the previous year. <br /> <br />
