Coordinator DATE: July II, 2005 SUBJECT: Vendor Recommendations for Westbound Liquor Project Lori, the purpose of this memo is to give you my analysis and recommendations for the awarding of work on a number of low voltage systems for the Westbound project. Dave, Steve and I have met and are in agreement on these recommendations. 1. For the low voltage wiring for phone, network, paging, and TV. a. We had four estimates ranging from $7846 to $4145 b. I recommend using Cabling Services Corporation with the low bid of$4145. c. We have not worked with Cabling Services in the past but they did provide references of extremely satisfied customers. 2. F or the CCTV portion of the security system: a. We had four estimates ranging from $19500 to $10,625. b. We are rejecting the low bid because it is built around a PC with a Microsoft Windows operating system. Our experience has been that this configuration requires more ongoing attention. ' c. I recommend using Wellington Security Systems proposal at $11,495. d. We have requested from Wellington pricing to upgrade their system to include point of sale information on the image. e. The following are the compelling reasons for using Wellington: i. Their digital video recording equipment is not PC based n. The equipment at Westbound would match that at Northbound which we are familiar with operating. 111. Vendor does have 7x24 support. IV. Vendor has experience in providing security systems for liquor stores. 3. For the Intrusion Detection portion of the security system: a. We had three estimates ranging from $5700 to $2375 b. I again recommend using Wellington Security Systems proposal at $2995 c. We are satisfied with their past work and they will be onsite for the CCTV portion of the security system.
