______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSION POLICY <br /> <br />Section: Category: <br />Governance Commission – Management Connection Policies <br />Policy Reference: Policy Title: <br />G.3c General Manager Accountability <br /> <br />PURPOSE: <br /> <br />With this policy, the Commission affirms that the General Manager is the only person directly <br />accountable to the Commission. <br /> <br />POLICY: <br /> <br />The General Manager is the Commission’s only formal connection to the ERMU organization <br />and is the only person directly accountable to the Commission for operating results and <br />operational conduct. Additionally, the General Manager is accountable only to the Commission. <br />From the Commission’s perspective, the authority and accountability of ERMU management and <br />staff employees is inseparable from the authority and accountability of the General Manager. <br /> <br />Consistent with this general statement: <br /> <br />1. The Commission as a body and the Commission members individually will never give <br />instructions (direct or implied) to anyone other than the General Manager. <br /> <br />2. The Commission as a body and the Commission members individually will refrain from <br />evaluating, either formally or informally, the job performance of any employee other than the <br />General Manager. <br /> <br />POLICY HISTORY: <br /> <br />Adopted May 9, 2017 <br />64
