Created in 1995 after a <br />merger between Burlington Northern, Inc. and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation. <br />C <br />9.CAIDI – Customer Average Interruption Duration Index – A measurement <br />representing the weighted average length of an interruption for customers affected <br />during a specific time period. The formula to determine this average is: CAIDI = sum <br />of all minutes off for interruptions lasting more than 5 minutes divided by the total <br />number of customers that experienced an interruption. <br />10.CapX2020 – Capital Expansion 2020 – A joint initiative of 10 transmission-owning <br />utilities in Minnesota and the surrounding region formed to plan, upgrade , and <br />expand the electric transmission grid to ensure continued reliable and affordable <br />service. In 2017, CapX2020 successfully completed an 800-mile, nearly $2 billion grid <br />expansion in the Upper Midwest. The projects included four 345-kV transmission <br />lines in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and a 230-kV <br />transmission line in northern Minnesota. ERMU purchased transmission assets <br />through one of the 10 participants, Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency. <br />11.CC&B – Customer Care & Billing – National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) <br />billing software used by ERMU. <br />12.CDL – Commercial Driver’s License – A license required to drive commercial motor <br />vehicle such as tractor trailers, semi-trucks, dump trucks, and passenger buses. <br />There are three classes of CDLs that determine the kinds of vehicles you’re <br />permitted to drive: Class A, Class B, and Class C. CDL classification is also determined <br />by the vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating. <br />13.CIP – Conservation Improvement Program – A program that assists households and <br />businesses with conserving energy, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and lessening <br />the need for new utility infrastructure. CIP is funded by ratepayers and administered <br />by electricity and natural gas utilities through programs and rebates. It is overseen <br />by the Minnesota State Department of Commerce. <br />14.CMMPA – Central Minnesota Municipal Power Agency – A joint power agency <br />established in 1987. Upstream CAPX2020 participant through which ERMU <br />purchased transmission assets. CMMPA is ERMU’s agent filing their annual <br />Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) “Attachment O” report . <br />15.CMPAS – Central Municipal Power Agency/Services – Pronounced “compass.” Serves <br />as a public power joint action agency providing power management and utility <br />services for its electric utility members and affiliates. Provides energy management <br />and consulting services to 12 public power members and 8 affiliates in MN and IA. <br />216
