Background/Discussion As part of the update the Park and Recreation Parks Master Plan, our consultant recommended review of the city's Park Dedication Fee due to concerns with recent changes to the state statute governing dedication of property for public purposes. Council directed staff to review the fee and explore options for calculating the cash in lieu of land dedication. That process and methodology used to update the fee is outlined in the attached Council Packets, and the following per unit rates were added to the city's fee schedule: Low Density (<4 DU/ acre) $1,425.93/dwelling unit Medium Density (4 to <7 DU/ acre) $1,075.79/dwelling unit High Density (>7 DU/ acre) $4,897.04/dwelling unit Prior to updating the fee, park dedication for residential developments was a flat $3,712/unit regardless of density.
