50.54. SCHOOL ACTIVITIES LEAVE POLICY <br />Employees who have worked at least one-half time during the preceding twelve months are <br />entitled to up to 16 hours leave during any 12-month period to attend school conferences or <br />onferences or classroom <br />activities cannot be scheduled during non- <br />child care services or attends a pre-kindergarten regular or special education program, the <br />employee may use the leave time to attend a conference, or activity related to the <br />conference, activity or observation cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. <br />When the need for leave under this section is foreseeable, the employee must provide <br />reasonable prior notice of the leave to his or her immediate supervisor and make a <br />reasonable effort to schedule the leave so as not to unduly disrupt Utilities business. <br />Regular paid sick leave may not be used for purposes of this school activities leave. <br />51.55. BONE MARROW AND ORGAN DONATION LEAVE <br />Employees who work an average of twenty (20) or more hours per week who seek to <br />undergo a medical procedure to donate bone marrow or an organ or partial organ will be <br />granted up to forty (40) hours of paid leave. Regular sick leave need not be used when this <br />Bone Marrow and Organ Donation Leave policy is applicable to the circumstances. The <br />Utilities may require verification by a health care provider of the purpose and length of <br />eachleave requested by the employee pursuant to this policy. <br />52.56. NATIONAL GUARD AND RESERVE LEAVE <br />Any officer or employee of the Utilities who is a member of the National Guard or other <br />reserve unit is entitled to a leave of absence from public office or employment without loss <br />of pay, seniority status, efficiency rating, vacation leave, sick leave, or other benefits for <br />the time that he/she is engaged with the reserve in training or active service so long as such <br />leave does not exceed a total of fifteen (15) days in any calendar year. Such leave will be <br />allowed only in cases where the required military or naval service is satisfactorily <br />performed. Such leave will not be allowed unless the officer or employee: <br /> Returns to the public position immediately on being relieved from such <br />military or naval service and not later than the expiration of the time <br />herein limited for such leave; or <br /> Is prevented from returning to Utilities employment by physical or <br />mental disability or other cause not due to the <br />own fault; or <br /> Is required by proper authority to continue in such military or naval <br />service beyond the time herein limited for such leave. <br />47 <br />August 2018 <br />January 2020 <br />120 <br />
