Recycling Ink Jet Cartridges and Cell Phone- Our Program Staff educated the
children as to why and how to recycle ink jet cartridges and cell phones, both
at the Club and at home. This program inGludes participation by both the
children and the staff and continues to be a year-round program. The ink
cartridges collected are being turned in at Office Depot for a free ream of
paper.

5. Recycling Pop Cans- Recycling cans is an on-going project for our Club. On
a permanent basis, the visibility of our can trailer sets a good example for our
members and community.

6. Teclmical Research- Our Program staff continued to utilize our technology
center as a resource tool to teach children about recycling and the benefits of
reducing the waste headed for the landfills. With the numerous websites
available on recycling, the children were able to discover new ways to recycle
even in their own homes. This program was offered as a piece of our on-
going technology training and included topics such as smog and air pollution,
environmental benefits, and how to "buy recycled".

7. Landfill Abatement Education-Ultimate Journey is our regularly scheduled
curriculum piece for our students. (See attached handouts) This program
included studies on recycling, which the students agreed they know about, but
could do better at.

8. Recycling Trivia- This was a fun way to teach the members "the facts" about
recycling and landfill abatement. Trivia is a regular part of our Power Hour
program and is enjoyed by all ages!
