SCHEDULE 3 - DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCES INTERCONNECTION PROCESS <br />8.2.Types of Agreements <br />There are two main types of Interconnection Agreements that may be executed with <br />an approved Interconnection Application. In general, Interconnection Customers with a <br />proposed DER system that qualifies for the Simplified Process track will sign the Area <br />EPUniform Contract for Cogeneration and Small Power Production <br />Facilities (Uniform Contract). Proposed DER systems less than 100 kW that are under <br />the Fast Track process may also sign the Uniform Contract. All other sized DER system <br />will sign the Municipal Minnesota Interconnection Agreement (MMIA). Area EPS <br />Operators who do not purchase the excess generation of the proposed DER system will <br />also require the MMIA to be executed for any size of DER system. <br />Table 8.1.Interconnection Agreements <br />Process Track Interconnection Agreement <br />Simplified Uniform Contract <br />Qualifies for Net Energy Billing Uniform Contract <br />Less than 100 kW & Area EPS Agrees <br />Fast Track Uniform Contract <br />to Purchase Excess Generation <br />All Other DER systems MMIA <br />Study MMIA <br />Interconnection Customers may choose to sign the MMIA in lieu of the Uniform <br />Contact. A separate power purchase agreement will also need to be executed if the <br />Uniform Contract is not utilized. Interconnection of the proposed DER system will not <br />occur until a signed Uniform Contract or the MMIA is returned to the Area EPS <br />Operator no later than five (5) days prior to scheduled testing and inspection. <br />9Interconnection <br />9.1.Metering <br />Any metering requirements necessitated by the use of the DER system shall be installed <br />included in the final invoice of interconnection costs to the Interconnection Customer. <br />The Interconnection Customer is also responsible for metering replacement costs not <br />Operator may charge Interconnection Customers an ongoing metering-related charge <br />for an estimate of ongoing metering-related costs specifically demonstrated. <br />9.2.Inspection, Testing and Commissioning <br />The Interconnection Customer shall arrange for the inspection and testing of the DER <br />13 <br />157 <br />
