FIREISMOKE/EXPLOSIONIGAS EMERGENCIES <br /> • Notify employees in area of emergency, evacuate if necessary. <br /> • Call 911 to notify fire department. <br /> - Give your name and telephone number. <br /> -Exact location of the fire. <br /> -What is on fire? <br /> -What is the size of the fire? <br /> • Activate alarm system at nearest exit. <br /> • Employees should walk to their designated assembly area. <br /> • If a visitor or an employee from a different area of the building is with you, direct them to <br /> accompany you as you evacuate. <br /> Considerations <br /> • Do not panic- keep calm. <br /> • Close, but do not lock, your door. <br /> • Department heads/alternates are responsible to ensure a complete evacuation of their area <br /> until an "all clear" is issued. Account for all persons in the area at the time of the alarm <br /> activation. Is everyone out? <br /> • Evacuate the building and go to your designated assembly area or at least 500 feet from the <br /> building. See map at the back of the book. Busses will be called to the Utilities office to <br /> shelter employees if weather conditions warrant it. DO NOT GO TO YOUR VEHICLE. <br /> • Do not re-enter the utility office until permission is granted from the General Manager or <br /> his/her designee. <br /> • Your safety comes first. <br /> • Everyone must leave the building. <br /> 13 <br /> 94 <br />
