ERMU will do this <br /> by reducing public anxiety about electric vehicle technology through installing public charging <br /> stations and working closely with the City of Elk River to take advantage of the community <br /> outreach and educational opportunities with the city's Energy City Commission and the Green <br /> Step Cities Initiative. In addition, ERMU will provide incentives to customers who purchase <br /> Level 2-charging equipment that is metered separately to allow for Time-of-Use (TOU) rates. <br /> ERMU will also conduct a fleet vehicle assessment in partnership with the City of Elk River to <br /> determine the feasibility of operating electric vehicles and how to incorporate the electric <br /> vehicle into the existing fleet. <br /> The electric vehicle program's main objectives are to educate, implement strategies, and share <br /> results. ERMU will develop a community-centered brand identity and a communication plan to <br /> launch the electric vehicle program.The customer education aspect of the program will focus <br /> on reduced fuel costs, operational cost reductions, and environmental benefits.
