Adjourn to Work session <br /> <br />There being no further business, Chair Anderson adjourned the meeting of the Elk River <br />Parks and Recreation Commission at 8:56 p.m. <br /> <br />13. Work session <br /> <br />The work session meeting of the Elk River Parks and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 9:05 p.m. by Chair Anderson. <br /> <br />13.1 Rivers Edge Commons Policy <br /> <br />Mr. Benoit shared the Rivers Edge Commons Park Policy. Stating that the City Clerk brought <br />up the following, current special event process permits do not go through city council, the city <br />can only restrict events based on safety and city resources and restrictions cannot be made <br />based on mission of event. Asking how the commission feels about the use of the park that is <br />not a wedding or city event if the policy stays the same. <br /> <br />Commissioner members discussed removing the special event application process line and if <br />downtown businesses support other events taking place in downtown. <br /> <br />Commissioner member agreed that the policy can stay the way it is. <br /> <br />13.2 Park Improvement Fund Projects <br /> <br />Mr. Sevcik shared the Park Improvement Fund for 2020-2024. Stating that they are obligated <br />to match funds for WHHCA restoration grant $10,000 and WTRP grant for shelters $25,000. <br /> <br />Staff non-prioritized recommendations: <br /> LJWP playground replacement <br /> LJWP trail reconstruction <br /> LJWP Basketball court replacement <br /> WTRP additional grant matching funds (picnic shelter concrete, well, secondary shelter <br />near nature play area) <br /> WTRP storage garage replacement <br /> Trott Brook Farms Park tennis court replacement <br /> YAC 1-4 dugout replacement <br /> Deerfield Hill Park basketball court replacement <br /> Sport Court resurfacing <br /> DAAC field improvements <br /> Ridgewood East Park basketball court replacement
