Parks & Recreation Commission Minutes Page 4 <br />August 14, 2019 <br />----------------------------- <br /> <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Niziolek and seconded by Commissioner Rathbun to <br />recommend that Lion John Weicht Park have black frame and red roof with columns <br />to match the Rivers Edge Commons Park in downtown, and Woodland Trails Park <br />Shelter have canvas taupe and green with fieldstone columns. <br /> <br />Commissioner Niziolek wanted to discuss doing the two shelters being built now and decide <br />on a standardized plan later. <br /> <br />Council member Wagner stated that the council would like to know the color of the roof. <br /> <br />Commission members discussed the options of having standardized colors or each park is <br />discussed individually. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rathbun withdrew his second. <br />Commissioner Niziolek withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Commission member discussed color options for the shelter roof. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Soltvedt and seconded by Commissioner Niziolek to have a <br />standard for the structure, by using the Poligon steel frame and rock veneer columns to <br />match the existing city wayfinding signs. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Soltvedt and seconded by Commissioner Niziolek to limit <br />the roof color choices to Mansford Brown, Brite Red, and Hartford Green. Parks and Recreation Director Update <br /> <br />Mr. Hecker shared his staff report with an update regarding Lion John Weicht Park. <br /> <br />10. Recreation Manager’s Update <br /> <br />Mr. Benoit presented his staff report and presented Elk RiverFest. <br /> <br />11. Announcements <br /> <br />Chair Anderson shared that the Woodland Trails signage eagle scout project has been <br />approved and will be moving forward. <br />
