MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br /> Building and Environmental Administrator Steve Rohlf stated there are two vacancies on <br />the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) and introduced the two applicants that <br />applied for these vacancies. <br /> <br /> Mayor Klinzing asked each applicant why they were interested in serving on the HPC. <br /> <br /> Matthew Christiaansen stated he would like to get more involved with the community and <br />further stated he is trained as an anthropologist. <br /> <br /> Molly Nadeau stated she finished the Chamber leadership training program and would like <br />to be more involved with the community. <br /> <br /> MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUMPHREY TO APPOINT THE FOLLOWING TWO <br />REPRESENTATIVES TO THE HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION: <br /> <br /> <br />1.MOLLY NADEAU WITH A TERM TO EXPIRE FEBRUARY 28, 2006. <br /> <br /> <br />2.MATTHEW CHRISTIAANSEN WITH A TERM TO EXPIRE <br />FEBRUARY 28, 2007. <br /> <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.4. Consider Rough Carpentry Bids for Westbound <br /> <br /> Steve Chuba, with Greystone Construction stated two quotes were received for the rough <br />carpentry work for the construction of Westbound Liquor. He recommended the low bid of <br />$29,900 by Crossroad Construction. He stated he is currently developing the bid package for <br />the finish carpentry. <br /> <br /> MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER TO AWARD THE ROUGH CARPENTRY BID <br />FOR WESTBOUND LIQUOR IN THE AMOUNT OF $29,900 TO CROSSROAD <br />CONSTRUCTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br /> Mr. Chuba provided an update on the construction progress of Westbound Liquor, which is <br />progressing ahead of schedule. <br /> <br />7.1. Consider Resolution Request by City of Elk River to Vacate the Public Interest in Jackson <br />Square-Public Hearing, Case No. EV 05-05 <br /> <br /> Director of Planning Michele McPherson submitted the staff report. Ms. McPherson stated <br />the city needs to vacate the public interest in Jackson Square in order to transfer title to <br />MetroPlains Development for the construction of Jackson Place. <br /> <br /> Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak to this issue, Mayor <br />Klinzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />
