SECTION 02630—CASTING ASSEMBLY <br /> PART 1-- GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This section covers the furnishing of all labor, materials,tools,equipment and performances of all work and <br /> services necessary or incidental to storm sewer construction as indicated on the drawings or as specified <br /> herein. <br /> 1.2 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> A. Measurement and compensation for the following items shall be paid according to the referenced <br /> specification or as modified below: <br /> 1. Casting Assemblies <br /> (a) Casting assemblies shall be measured per EACH,complete in place and paid at the unit price bid. <br /> B. The furnishing and installing of specific items and/or the performance of work under certain circumstances <br /> shall not be individually paid in the absence of a specific bid item for the work. The costs shall be included <br /> in the unit price bid for the storm sewer items,as indicated.Such items of work include but are not limited <br /> to: <br /> 1. Locating and connecting to an existing storm sewer structure, include in the price bid for casting <br /> assembly. <br /> 1.3 SPECIFICATION REFERENCES <br /> A. MnDOT 2506 shall apply to manholes,catch basins and castings,except as modified herein. <br /> B. Unless noted otherwise,the provisions in this section are in addition to the referenced specification. <br /> PART 2-- PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 MANHOLES&CATCH BASINS <br /> A. Castings <br /> 1. All casting assemblies shall meet the certification requirements of the Minnesota Department of <br /> Transportation and be manufactured by a MnDOT approved source. <br /> 2. The type of casting assembly to be used shall be Neenah R-1733 solid lid with two concealed pickholes <br /> and 2.0-inch raised letters stamped "STORM SEWER". The frame shall be Neenah R-1733. <br /> 3. The type of curb and gutter catch basin casting assembly to be used shall be Neenah R-3067, unless <br /> otherwise specified on the plan. <br /> B. Adjusting Rings <br /> 1. Only Ladtech H.D.P.E adjusting rings or approved equal,with approved mastic,shall be permitted for <br /> manholes. Only concrete adjusting rings shall be permitted for catch basins. <br /> C. Chimney Seal <br /> 1. None <br /> 2.2 GEOTEXTILE FABRIC <br /> A.
