SECTION 01562-AIR, LAND AND WATER POLLUTION <br /> PART 1-- GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This section covers the furnishing of all labor, materials,tools,equipment and performances of all work and <br /> services necessary for the prevention of air, land and water pollution as indicated on the plans or as <br /> specified herein or as directed by the Engineer. <br /> 1.2 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> A. Measurement and compensation for the following items shall be paid according to the referenced <br /> specification or as modified below: <br /> 1. Payment for the prevention of air and land pollution shall be incidental to the project and no separate <br /> compensation will be granted <br /> 2. Payment for all work associated with the prevention of water pollution and erosion control shall be <br /> incidental to the project and no separate compensation will be granted, unless payment for such work <br /> is specifically identified in Section 02370"Erosion and Sediment Control"of this Project Manual. <br /> B. SPECIFICATION REFERENCES <br /> 1. MnDOT 1717 shall apply to the prevention of air, land and water pollution. <br /> 2. Mn DOT 2573 shall apply to storm water management. <br /> 3. Unless noted otherwise,the provisions in this section are in addition to the referenced specification. <br /> PART 2-- PRODUCTS(NOT USED) <br /> PART 3-- EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 GENERAL <br /> A. The Contractor shall provide and maintain all sanitary accommodations for use by employees. <br /> B. All solid waste material shall be disposed by the Contractor in accordance with the local and State solid <br /> waste disposal regulations. <br /> 3.2 DUST CONTROL <br /> A. The Contractor shall perform dust control operations necessary to proactively prevent the production of <br /> dust in amounts to cause nuisance or damage to property,vegetation,animals,or persons in the vicinity of <br /> the construction. <br /> B. The Contractor shall suspend construction or haul traffic when the Contractor cannot prevent airborne dust <br /> until such time as dust control can be re-established to the required levels. <br /> C. The Contractor shall be responsible for any damage resulting from dust originating from the construction. <br /> The dust abatement measures shall be continued until the Contractor is relieved of further responsibility <br /> under these Contract provisions. <br /> D. Requests by the Owner or Engineer for additional dust control shall be accomplished within 4 hours of <br /> notification and shall also include evenings and weekends as required or deemed necessary by the Owner <br /> or the Engineer. Failure to perform the work requested within the 4 hours may result in the Owner or <br /> Engineer arranging for dust control by others. A contract deduction shall be made equal to the total of all <br /> costs to perform dust control so arranged,including not limited to labor,materials,equipment and <br /> administrative costs. <br /> 3.3 USE OF CHEMICALS <br /> A.
