Craig J. Jochum, P.E.
SUMMARY
Mr. Jochum, P.E. is the President of the firm with 29 years of experience in
civil and municipal engineering. Craig has extensive experience in project
management, detailed design and construction oversight of civil
improvement projects. Craig manages the Hakanson Anderson team with
an integrated, hands-on approach to deliver quality construction documents
and exceptional levels of service.
EXPERIENCE
Craig has extensive experience in civil and municipal engineering projects
including the design and construction of municipal state aid and local
streets, Trunk Highway service roads and intersections, parking lots,
improvements necessary for railroad quiet zones, and residential and
commercial site and utility design. Craig specializes in solving complex
engineering problems and delivering real world solutions. Craig also has
extensive experience in leading the design and construction on complex,
multi-million dollar improvement projects.
Craig has successfully obtained over $2.4 million in grant money from
MnDOT for the City of East Bethel through the Cooperative Agreement
Program. The grant money has been used for service road construction and
access control/consolidation along Trunk Highway 65.
PROJECT EXAMPLES
NATURE’S EDGE BUSINESS CENTER – PHASE 1 & PHASE 2 –
Craig was the project manager for both the Phase 1 and Phase 2 Nature’s
Edge Business Center projects that were completed in 2012 and 2014.
These two projects included constructing a two-lane urban roadway which
will become the easterly half of Twin Lakes Road, which is proposed to be
constructed with this project. This project also included the layout and
conceptional design of the intersection improvements for Twin Lakes Road
at 171st Avenue and Trunk Highway 10, which was used to establish right-
of-way limits.
TRUNK HIGHWAY 65 ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS AND SERVICE
ROAD CONSTRUCTION – Over the past 20 years, Craig has worked
cooperatively with MnDOT on five separate projects in the City of East
Bethel. These projects were all initiated and managed by the City of East
Bethel. These projects consisted of access improvements, both removal and
construction, and service road reconstruction to improve the traffic safety
along the TH 65 corridor.
EVERGREEN BOULEVARD, 90TH STREET AND 93RD STREET –
This $4.5M projected consisted of street reclamation, reconstruction, and
utility replacement in an existing industrial park in the City of Coon
Rapids. Due to a functional change of the roadways, center medians were
removed and reconfigured to allow a narrower street surface. This
collaborative value engineering effort allowed the project to be “right
sized” for the traffic levels while also allowing for the addition of
pedestrian facilities without the increased costs of additional stormwater

EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science
- Civil Engineering
North Dakota State University
REGISTRATION
Licensed Professional Engineer
State of Minnesota
ORGANIZATIONS
City Engineer Association of
Minnesota
American Council of
Engineering Companies
Anoka Chamber of Commerce
Metro North Chamber of
Commerce
