<br />REGULAR SEMI7l-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE VILLAGE OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br /> <br />June 5th 1972 at 7:30 pm. <br /> <br />The regular semi-monthly meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by <br />Mayor Bartelt on June 5, 1972 at 7:30 pm. in the Council Room of the Village Office <br />Building. Members were present as follows: Mayor Bartelt, Councilmen Syring, Hudson and <br />Konop. John MacGibbon and Bill Mills were ,in attendance. <br /> <br />The minutes of the May 15, 1972 regular meeting were mailed and the minutes of the <br />Special meetings of May 25th with the Minnesota Highway Department, the May 25th Special <br />Meeting regarding the Guardian Angels Foundation and the May 25th Special Meeting of the <br />Board of Review were mailed. All members received and read the minutes there were no <br />addition or correctionsand the minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Moved byyCouncilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Syring to grant the renewal of <br />Ernie Carlson proprietor of The Main Taps Set-up ~cense. Motion unaminously carried by <br />a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Charles Solhein met with the Council in regards to the possibility of installation of <br />street lights for the intersection of School Street and Highway 169. The Clerk-Treasurer <br />was instructed to draft a letter to the Minnesota Highway Department requesting such <br />an installation. <br /> <br />Rex Oetinger met with the Council to inquire if a special permit would be required for <br />the installation of a business sign that overhung the sidewalk. The Council would see <br />no need for a special permit as long as the installation of the sign did not block the <br />sidewalk right away. <br /> <br /> <br />Arnold Engstrom representing the Sherburne County Fair Board met with the Council to <br />request funds be authorized from the Music Fund to be used for the purpose of treats <br />for vistt~g bands at the Fair ,Parade. <br /> <br />At 8:00 pm. Mayor Bartelt declared the taking of bids for Watermain Construction for <br /> <br /> <br />the Industr.ia-1Park Area be closed. <br />CONTRACTOR <br />A. N. The Public Hearing on the 1972 Street Improvements convened. <br /> <br />Tax Agent for Burlington Northern Railroad voiced his objection in behalf of the Railroad <br />to the paving of railroad drive as he stated that portionsof this street are infact <br />
