<br />R~1lroad property and that the Village would have to obtain an easement or purchase this <br />property before any assessment could be attached. <br /> <br />The Council requested the Tax Agent for Burlington Northern to obtain some prices on the <br />properties as follows: Jackson Ave~ue to King Avenue, King Avenue on to the end of the . <br />Street and a conb~ed figure for purchase and easement costs. <br /> <br />Richard Gongoll and Robert Dare were present a~d question the high cost for the fill <br />that was needed for the ~~in Street Improvement. Bill Mills Village Engineer reviewed <br />these costs and stated that 2,360 yards @ $1.50 per yard would be needed the cost,per <br />yard of fill was based on present prices. It was also requested that a 2 hour parallel <br />parking be zoned for the South side of Sherburne County #12 (Main Street fbnl Lowell Ave. <br />to the East Exit of Andys Alley. <br /> <br />No other affected property owners appeared and the Public Hearing for the 1972 Street <br />Improvements was adjonneq. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Syring that a 2hour parallel <br />parking be zoned for the South,smde of Sherburne County #12 (Main Street) from Lowell <br />Avenue to the East Exit of Andys; Alley, .Village of Elk River, Minnesota. Motion unaminously <br />carried by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />The Clerk-Treasurer ,was instructed to draft a letter to the Sherburne County Zoning <br />Administrator requesting the 2 hours parallel parking zoning change. <br /> <br />The Council instructed Les Derr to see to the removal of the tree on King Avenue by <br />Dares Funeral Service. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Syring and seconded by Councilman Konop ordering the Village Engineer <br />Bill Mills to proceed with the plans and specification of the 1972 Street Improvement <br />Program with the exclusion of Railroad Drive and UPA Drive. Motion unaminously carried . <br />by a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />Bill Mills presented to the Council the addendum dated 5;15172 to the Preliminary Engineering <br />Report Interceptor Sewe~ and Sewage Treatment Plant Construction <br /> <br />The Clerk-Treasurer was instructed to summitt a progr~ss report to the P.C.A. <br />I <br />The Council approved Dave Hofstads. request for a variance waiver to his new address at <br />Riverview Addition. <br /> <br />" <br />Bob Olson met with the Council ando requested the following expenditures for Councils <br />approval: <br />1. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />ChEmf of Police to attend State Police & Pease Officers Convention to be <br />held in Duluth, Minne~ota June 24th thru the 27th. <br />Patrolman Hofstad and, Swanson to attend the pistol shooting June 25th <br />onedday off for each man to attend plus expenses. <br />First Aid Kit for Sq~d Car <br />Blanket for SquaddCaro <br />PA System for the Squad Car <br />Radio remote for Polipe Station <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />6. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Konop and secopded by Councilman Syring authorizing the expenditures <br />of $120.00 for Chief of Police Bob, Olson to attend the State Police & Peace Officers <br />Convention to be held in Duluth June 24-27th also authorize Dave Hofstad and Charles <br />Swanson to attend the pistol shooting event June 25tfr at Duluth and grant each a day off <br />to attend plus $25.00 each ~xpense money and to hire part-time patrolmen to fill in the. <br />two sh~fts that they are off. Motion unaminously carried be a vote of 3-0. <br /> <br />The Council also au~hoDizeJthe purchase of a first aid k,t and a blanket for the. squad car. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the request for a PA System type speaker for the squad car, it was <br />felt that a standard weather proof type of speaker would be more feasible. <br />
