Hembers were present as follows: ~/;ayor Bartelt, Councilmen Hudson, Konop, Syring <br />and Otto. Village ',ttorney John MacGibbon in attendance. <br /> <br />The minutes of the March 20, 1972 regular meeting were rrailed March 23, 1972. All members <br />received and read the minutes, there were no additions or corrections and the minutes were <br />approved as mailed. <br /> <br />Rex Oetinger Village Building Inspector met with the Council regarding a variance waive:c <br />setback of 5 feet of backyard space for a house to be built on the odd shaped lot on Xenia <br />and 111and. The Council agreed that a letter fmblnitted by the Planning Corrrrnission recommend- <br />ing the 5 foot setback to the Council vmuld be approved. <br /> <br />The Council authorized the Village Building Inspector and Clerk-Treasurer to attend the <br />Ivlunicipalities State Building Code Dinner l~eeting to be held April 26, 1972 and to pay <br />the .CO fee for e8,ch person attending. <br /> <br />Hayor B2.rtelt reviewed the letter received from the First National Bank of Llk River re- <br />Questing the Village to facilitate the tie in with the banks new facility and the streets <br />a,nd also to assist in providing off street parking. The Street Committee was instructed <br />to resolve their requests as stated in the letter of }larch 23, 1972. <br /> <br />Eak River Associated Investors, Inc. letter dated l'Iarch 23, 1972 v[[eS passed arolL.'1d for, <br />Councils review. l\',surnmary of this let tel' reeds as follows: The Association requested t-he <br />Village Council to extend l^mtermain extensions into the easterly portion of the Industrial <br />Park and to have the assessments spread over a 20 year basis. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Otto and seconded by COlL.'1ci~llan Syring to call for a prelL~inary <br />engineering report for watermain extensions into the easterly portion of the Industrial <br />Park to be prepared by Bill Mills Village Engineer. Motion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing of vacation of land dedic&ted to streets convened at 8:00 pm. There <br />was no one present for the hearing in opposition. Cliff Lundberg was in attendance in <br />behalf of Alfred Brown Jr. <br /> <br />IvIoved by Councilman Syring and seconded by CounciL~an Hudson that as there was no one <br />present at the hearing in opposition it was felt to be in the best interest of the <br />community to processed to vacate the street as presented in the notice. A copy of the <br />resolution is 8,ttached. i"lotion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the nroblem of the ditches on School street as to what course of <br />action should be taken. Councilman Syring to meet with Lester Derr and Bill Hills to <br />see what would be the most feasible solution. <br /> <br />jI~oved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Councilman Eonop to authorize up to ~~500.00 <br />expenditures to resolve the School street ditch project. iIotion unaminously carried. <br /> <br />At 8:30 pm. Jvlayor Bartelt declared the taking of the bids for the new patrol car be closed. <br />The bids received were as follows: <br />Joe Rosenthal Ford Ford Custom Vi/trade-in <br />Country Chrysler Flymouth Satellite w/trade-in <br />All bids meet the specification requirements. <br /> <br />$;3,123.00 <br />$2,863.00 <br /> <br />Hoved by Councilman Hudson and seconded by Counci~nan Syring that the Village accept the <br />bid for the purchase of the new patrol car submitted by Country Chrysler at the bid price <br />of ,863.00 with trade-in. Motion unaminously carried. <br />
