Theapplicant andtheirrepresentativesaddressed theCommission’sconcerns andprovided the following <br />additional information regarding ResCare’sbackground, operations, andthepatients: <br />ResCare isatransitional carefacilityforpatients returning tothecommunityafterhavingreceived <br />hospital-basedtreatment. <br />Staffare trained asfirstresponders andequipped tohandleemergency situations. <br />Calls foremergencyresponsesvary, butaccordingto ResCare representatives ithasnotbeen an <br />issueinthepast. Patientsarecontinually monitored andevaluated for concerns thatmay needto <br />beaddressedinahospitalsetting. <br />Patients aretreated foravariety ofemotional conditions andpsychiatric disordersregarding their <br />thoughts, whichmayinclude suicidalorconfused thinking, which canpreventthemfrom <br />functioning inthecommunity ina positiveway.
