<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />December 8, 2004 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Mr. Maertz stated that the Senior Center and the Eagle Scouts would like to work on a joint <br />project to build and monitor wood duck houses that would be placed in the wetlands and <br />ponds. <br /> <br />Mr. Maertz shared that the Highlands West survey cost $2,300. The reason for the higher <br />cost was due to the park having twelve sides. Mr. Maertz stated that this would make the <br />2004 CIP budget over. <br /> <br />8.1. Community Events: Cabin Fever Update <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared with the Commission that the 3rd <br />Annual Cabin Fever Day has 15 businesses that have committed so far and 19 home based <br />businesses participating at Lions Park Center. The addition of having a place for home <br />based businesses to participate is new this year. <br /> <br />8.2. Land Use Cases - None <br /> <br />8.3.A. 2005 CIP Budget <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared with the Commission the 2005 Parks <br />Capital Improvement Budget. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER KUESTER AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORK TO ACCEPT THE 2005 PARKS CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT BUDGET. MOTION CARRIED 6-0 <br /> <br />8.3.B. Consider Park Dedication Fund Proiected Revenue <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared with the Commission plans for West <br />Oaks Park, Kliever Pointe Park and Windsor Park. Mr. Maertz stated that signs would be <br />placed in the parks to let the residents know when and what improvements are coming to <br />the park. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER POLSTON-HORKAND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER KUESTER TO RECOMMEND TO CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL OF THE THREE PARK MASTER PLANS. MOTION CARRIED 6-0 <br /> <br />8A.A. Park Dedication Fund Projected Revenue <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz presented projected park dedication revenues <br />for 2005-2011. <br /> <br />The Commissioner requested that Mr. Maertz set up a meeting the first part of January for a <br />workshop with the City Council, Parks and Recreation Commission and staff to come up <br />with a whole plan using the Natural Resources Inventory. <br /> <br />9.1.
