<br />Park & Recreation Commission Minutes <br />November 10,2004 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />. 8.3.A. 2005 Park Dedication Fees <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared with the Commission proposed park <br />dedication fees for 2005. <br /> <br />Residential <br />Commercial <br />Industrial <br /> <br />$2,800 per dwelling <br />$6,000 per acre <br />$2,000 per acre <br /> <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER PETERSON AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER PAIGE TO ACCEPT STAFF RECOMMENDATION TO CITY <br />COUNCIL TO RAISE PARK DEDICATION FEES FOR 2005. MOTION <br />CARRIED 7-0 <br /> <br />8AA. Orono Park Rain Garden <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz gave the Commission an update on the Orono <br />Park Rain Garden. Mr. Maertz shared that through discussions the best option would be to <br />install a swale that would begin at the top of the boat ramp and extend northeast toward the <br />low area along the shoreline. <br /> <br />Commissioner Anderson recommended they plant prairie grass where the City currently <br />mows. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />9.1.A. River Park Development <br /> <br />Planner/Park Planner, Chris Leeseberg presented to the Commission an update regarding <br />River Park Development. <br /> <br />MOVED BY CHAIR PETERSON AND SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER <br />NYSTROM TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL TO ACCEPT LAND <br />AND CASH DEDICATION BASED ON THE LAND THAT IS DEVELOPED <br />AFTER THE SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY HAS BEEN DONATED. <br />WITHIN THAT PARK DEDICATION, THE COMMISSION IS ASKING FOR <br />THE SOUTH PARK AT APPOXIMENTL Y FIVE ACRES WITH THE <br />REMOVAL OF FOUR LOTS. THE COMMISSION IS ALSO ASKING FOR 11 <br />ACRES OF WOODS TO MAKE A TOTAL OF 16 ACRES WITH A MINIMUM OF <br />A 40-FOOT TRAIL CORRIDOR THAT CONNECTS FROM THE SOUTH <br />PARK, AROUND THE WETLAND TO THE 11 ACRES OF WOODS AND <br />FOLLOWING UP TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT DONATED PROPERTY <br />WITH CREDIT FOR THE TRAIL. THE BALANCE OF PARK DEDICATION <br />WILL BE CASH BASED ON THE NUMBER OF UNIT DENSITY IN THE <br />FINAL PLAT. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> <br />9.2A. Park/Trail Developments - Highlands West <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Director of Parks and Recreation, Bill Maertz shared with the Commission the developers <br />request to enlarge the size of the drainage pond on Highlands West. Staff has requested the <br />developer to stake the construction limits of the enlarged pond so that they can assess the <br />impact to the park property. <br />
