Park Development Progress Report - Teny Bye <br /> <br />Park Foreman, T eny Bye shared pictures that showed the Youth Athletic Complex fields <br />five and six with players pad and benches installed. <br /> <br />Mr. Bye also stated that the sidewalk at the Barn has been poured. <br /> <br />Mr. Bye shared pictures of the Lions Park Center parking lot and trails that have been <br />finished. Mr. Bye stated that the center islands and striping have been completed in the <br />parking lot and the pads for the portable toilets have been poured. <br /> <br />Mr. Bye stated that they are waiting for nice weather to pave the basketball court at <br />Highlands West Park. Mr. Bye also shared they will be repaving the basketball court in <br />Lions and Ridgewood East Parks. <br /> <br />Mr. Bye shared they are busy with maintenance on the fields and mowing with all the rain <br />that we have had. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />City Recreation Update - Michele Bergh <br /> <br />Recreation Manager, Michele Bergh shared that the First Annual Community Garage Sale <br />had 84 homes participating and eight children participating in the Kid's Garage Sale at Lions <br />Park Center the same day. Ms. Bergh stated that they plan on running this event on an <br />annual basis. <br /> <br />Ms. Bergh stated that the Skate Park is complete and is busy just about every day. <br /> <br />Ms. Bergh shared that the remodeling at Lions Park Center will be complete the week of <br />June 14th. <br /> <br />Ms. Bergh stated that the department had a coloring contest in conjunction with the <br />Summer Kickoff event. Ms. Bergh shared that the kick off event was a success; in spite of <br />the r:aID 200-250 people attended. The lion is now named "Leo" thanks to the children's <br />nammg contest. <br /> <br />Ms. Bergh stated that the 7th Annual Ice Show was held on May 14 and 15th at the Arena. <br />The theme for the show this year was "Wizard of Oz". <br /> <br />Ms. Bergh shared that the end of the year concert bash at the bandshell had 200-250 <br />students attend on May 28th. Ms. Bergh stated that ten bands signed up to play. <br /> <br />Ms. Bergh stated that Safety Camp had 102 children participate and everything ran smoothly. <br />This year Minnesota Bound and Radio Disney participated in the Safety Camp. <br /> <br />9.A.1.
